Town of Jones City’s Response to COVID-19

The Town of Jones City Emergency Management along with the Jones City Board of Trustees, Oklahoma City/County Health Dept, and Governor Kevin Stitt’s office are working in close coordination to provide the most accurate information about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from the Oklahoma State Department of Health and U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The well being of all Jones City employees and citizens is of primary concern to us. As we proactively monitor the quickly changing COVID-19 Pandemic, we are preparing for how the virus may affect our daily operations and our employees. Our commitment focuses on following stringent cleanliness in our offices to ensure everyone feels safe. We will continue to sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles and countertops. Our employees are required to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer frequently and if they chose to, they may wear gloves for their protection.

We share information with our employees on the best way to keep themselves and their families healthy. We continue to encourage anyone who is not feeling well to stay home. To date, no Jones City employee has tested positive for or are exhibiting any signs of COVID-19. If that occurs, we will follow the CDC’s guidance for the 14-day self-isolation at home. Any City employee that has been diagnosed or has come in contact with someone who is infected with COVID-19 will self-isolate at home and receive their scheduled pay for up to 14 days.

We would like to remind our residents that City operations will continue as usual as will all City services. However, we urge our citizens to utilize alternative methods as opposed to visiting City Hall. You can call City Hall at 405-399-5301, City Hall staff will do eve1ything possible to answer every call, however, in the event that they are busy, PLEASE leave a message and call back number and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

In order to help limit your risk of contracting COVID-19, please take the following precautions:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick or showing COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Stay home while you are sick and avoid close contact with others.
  • Cover your mouth/nose with a tissue or cough/sneeze into the bend of your elbow.
  • If you have a cough, fever, or respiratory symptoms CALL YOUR DOCTOR FIRST. The Oklahoma State Health Dept., CDC, and health care providers ask that you NOT go to the hospital, urgent care, or doctor’s office.

Stay Up-To-Date
