Town of Jones appoints Dan Wells as new Mayor
[Jones, OK] – The Town of Jones City Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Wells as the new Mayor, as decided at the Special Meeting held on May 13, 2024.
Wells’ remarkable journey of public service started with his tenure in the US Navy aboard the USS Nimitz, which provided him with a worldly perspective. Upon concluding his naval career, he established deep roots in Shreveport, Louisiana, dedicating himself to community safety as a distinguished member of its Police Department. After his departure from law enforcement, Wells founded Wells Industrial Battery, Inc., an enterprise that soon flourished under his leadership to become Oklahoma’s largest industrial battery dealer. Guided by love and ambition, in the early 2000’s he relocated the company to Harrah, OK after meeting Carmalieta, whom he adoringly refers to as the love of his life.
In 2017, Dan was asked to sit on the Planning Commission for the Town of Jones City. Three years of his tenure on the Commission were served as Chairman.
Dan Wells shares his life with Carmalieta and their beloved family of five children and nine grandchildren. Their shared values resonate within the community as they take pride in the continuity of the Jones Longhorns legacy through their youngest grandchildren.
The staff and Board of Trustees of Jones City eagerly anticipate the positive changes and advancements Dan Wells will bring as mayor. His proven dedication and altruism are set to create beneficial outcomes for all residents. Our community looks forward to embracing the leadership of Mayor Dan Wells and witnessing the positive developments his leadership will lead to.
